The Chicago Cubs filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday against Wrigley View Rooftop, a business that sells rooftop tickets in a building adjacent to Wrigley Field to watch Cubs games and concerts, for what the team describes as unlicensed sales and intellectual property theft.
The underlying controversy is not new. The Cubs and owners of adjacent buildings have battled in court several times over those owners’ right to generate profits from Wrigley Field events by virtue of their location.
