Position Description
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Vice President, Legal will provide general legal support to the NWSL. The ideal candidate is intelligent, hardworking, self-starting, reliable, organized, and can manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position is based in New York, NY.
Primary Responsibilities
Draft, prepare and review a variety of transactional documents, including sponsorships, licensing, media rights, joint ventures, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements.
Manage investigations related to violations of the NWSL Policy to Prevent and
Eliminate Workplace Discrimination, Harassment, and Bullying and other League Rules
Support league and team governance, ownership transactions and expansion matters.
Support League and clubs on intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement.
Provide strategic legal advice to business teams regarding data collection and processing and privacy compliance.
Assist in developing league policies and procedures and interpreting applicable league rules.
Support risk management efforts and management of insurance policies.
Drive continuous improvements in policies and processes, including document templates; evaluate workflows and establish priorities.
Perform other ad hoc projects as assigned.
