Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to maintaining strong institutional control in all aspects of NCAA, Pac-12 Conference, and University of Arizona Athletics rules compliance.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Compliance unit, including overseeing all Compliance Office staff and directing their responsibilities across all NCAA, Pac-12, and University of Arizona bylaws, guidelines, and requirements.
Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive rules education and monitoring program that ensures adherence to NCAA, Pac-12, and University of Arizona expectations.
Certify the eligibility of all student-athletes through collaboration with various partners, including the NCAA, the University of Arizona registrar, and C.A.T.S Academics.
Lead the research, writing, and submission process for waiver requests.
Direct involvement with all rules enforcement issues, including oversight for conducting inquiries and investigations into possible rules violations.
Represent the Compliance Office as the primary liaison to student-athlete service departments (e.g., C.A.T.S.) and at student-athlete-oriented meetings (e.g., individual program performance team meetings, CESAW, and Health and Wellness).
Provide interpretations on NCAA, Pac-12, and institutional rules to coaches and staff, maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCAA bylaws and their interpretations, and keep current on NCAA, Pac-12, and University of Arizona policies regarding athletic rules.
Assist with the professional development of Compliance Office personnel.
Coordinate annual institutional reporting requirements as determined by the NCAA and the University of Arizona.
Partner with Medical Services to execute the NCAA and institutional drug testing program.Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President for Athletics.
