About the Role
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Manager, Sustainability include:
Help to develop and oversee programs to address tournament-related environmental, governance and economic issues, challenges, and opportunities in Canada in accordance with the FWC26 Sustainability & Human Rights Strategy.
Engage local and national sustainability stakeholders in Canada, including both governmental and non-governmental actors.
In close collaboration with the FIFA26 CAN Senior Manager, Human Rights and Indigenous Engagement and Head of Environment in Miami, engage with Indigenous stakeholders, Host City Committees, and the Host City and Stadium Environmental Focal Points in Canada on sustainability efforts as per the Host City Environmental Plans.
Advise FIFA and FIFA26 Inc. on the evolving sustainability regulatory and political landscape in Canada.
Support FIFA and FIFA26 Inc. in broader sustainability planning and operational efforts.
Work on environmental topics related to the tournament such as sustainable building certification for operations for FIFA World Cup 26 stadiums, upstream waste reduction and climate action as per the FWC26 Sustainability & Human Rights Strategy.
Deliver sustainable operations training and facilitate knowledge-sharing for FIFA World Cup sites in Canada, including stadiums, training sites, other sites, with a focus on leaving a positive and lasting legacy of sustainable operations.
Work with the FIFA26 Sustainable Supply Chain Coordinator and the Procurement Functional Area on Canadian procurement processes for the FIFA World Cup.
Assist with providing information to media enquiries, in particular from Canadian media.
Assist in planning and coordinating of meetings, workshops and site visits.
Support the delivery of the tournament’s sustainability reporting throughout the project.
