About the Role
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Manager, Cross Border Relations for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
Focus efforts on CAN/MEX/USA/International relations such as:
Trilaterals
WGs that cross borders (border issues, visa/immigration, etc.)
Embassy and consulate engagement
Manage political partnership interests, such as the development of MOU’s etc.
Protocol experience working with domestic/international delegations and dignitaries
Facilitating meetings and briefings with government officials
Support the delivery of international meetings between FWC26 CAN and the consular and diplomatic offices
Represent FWC26 CAN at international relations and protocol-related meetings and events ex. With embassies, etc.
Lead the planning, design, and delivery of high-profile events in Canada (receptions, etc.)
Work collaboratively across all Functional Areas (ex. Logistics, ticketing, commercialization, visas/immigration, medical, safety and security, guest operations, etc.)
Work in collaboration with Mexico and the US on the establishment of trilaterals to advance FIFA’s collective goals across the three host countries.
Develop an action plan for government engagement/outreach (i.e. Embassies, Government leaders, Elected officials, etc.).
Work closely with our Communications team on development of key messages, impacts, legacy identification, etc.
Support the tracking of political updates/changes, upcoming legislation changes that impact the project, public engagement sentiments, etc.
Strategy planning on MOU’s across the three countries that FIFA wants to highlight
Participate in the ongoing planning sessions/WG’s, and working groups that involve government entities and/or attend National Coordinating Committee meetings
Support the management of cross border logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods, and arrival of people.
Other duties as assigned.
