Contracts Manager, Paralegal

About the Role

Assist the General Counsel in support of all legal matters, including transactions and litigation
Draft and review basic amendments, sponsorship agreements, contest and promotion rules, and other legal documents with oversight from General Counsel
Maintain a comprehensive record of all executed agreements, ensuring contracts are organized, accessible, and properly stored
Provide high-level administrative support to the General Counsel, including managing correspondence, scheduling, and document preparation
Ensure the company's legal filings, including LLC status and other regulatory requirements, are up to date
Oversee effective document management, including maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal protocols
Monitor the progress of contracts and legal documents, and proactively follow up with internal departments to ensure timely updates on their status
Evaluate operational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with industry best practices
Prepare executive summaries, reports, and draft new policies based on analysis
Stay informed of legislative developments that may impact the company, and conduct legal and factual research on relevant issues
Oversee and coordinate legal projects and deadlines, acting as a liaison between internal departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion
Perform other general legal and administrative responsibilities as requested
Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

About the Company

JMIS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract Manager/Paralegal to join our offices in Lexington, KY. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this individual will play a pivotal role in supporting the General Counsel in all areas of legal operations, including drafting and negotiating sponsorship and other business agreements, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, overseeing company filings, and assisting with contract negotiations and dispute resolution. In addition, this role will also provide essential administrative support, such as formatting and organizing legal documents and handling various day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
