About the Role
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Counsel, Legal Compliance for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive legal compliance program to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and FIFA policies.
Review and negotiate contracts with various stakeholders, including host cities, sponsors, broadcasters, vendors, and participating teams.
Monitor and ensure compliance with FIFA's Code of Ethics, Statutes, and other governing documents.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure legal compliance in areas such as marketing, ticketing, broadcasting, and hospitality.
Conduct regular compliance assessments and risk evaluations to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
Keep abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations, and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Collaborate with FIFA's legal team and external counsel to address complex legal issues and maintain consistency in legal interpretations.
Prepare and submit required legal reports to regulatory authorities and FIFA headquarters.

Reporting organisationally to the General Counsel, the Counsel (Manager Level), Legal Compliance will be a key member of the FIFA26 Legal team, and other key individuals responsible for ensuring that tournament contracts, regulations, and licensing comply with applicable laws and regulations. Further, this role will oversee the implementation and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements throughout the tournament's operations.
